With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. 

HAMILTON is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, as told by America now.

Show Run Time:
2 Hours 45 Minutes including a 20 minutes intermission.  The performance will be in English.
Matinee performances will begin at 1:30 p.m. and evening performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

​PLEASE NOTE: There is a 4 ticket limit per household. Tickets purchased are subject to non-refundable service and handling charges and applicable taxes. Teatro UPR and the producers of HAMILTON reserve the right to revoke tickets that end up on the secondary market. Will Call for pick-up will be two (2) hours prior to the scheduled performance at the Ticket Box Office of Teatro UPR by the original purchaser, who then must present the purchase receipt, and a valid photo ID matching the name on the order and the order number.

CHILDREN POLICY

Children under the age of 5 are not allowed inside the theater. All children must have a ticket and be seated with an adult. Any person disrupting a performance or inhibiting the enjoyment of an event for guests may be removed from the theater without refund.

HAMILTON is appropriate for ages 10+. The show contains some strong language.

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many tickets may I purchase?

There is a strict limit of four (4) tickets per household for HAMILTON.

Why am I only able to purchase 4 tickets?

The ticket limit is in place to allow the opportunity to purchase HAMILTON tickets to as many people as possible. Any and all transactions that are detected to be bot purchases, patrons creating duplicate accounts in order to purchase more than four (4) tickets, or any action that indicates a purchase in excess of the four (4) ticket limit may be cancelled without further consideration.

What is the process for ordering tickets online?

On the day of the on-sale, tickets will be sold to the public through www.ticketpop.com. Due to anticipated demand, patrons will encounter a virtual waiting room before entering, getting placed into the purchase queue. See below for complete details on the online ticket purchase path:

  1. Create an account ahead of time:  You will need to create a ticketpop.com account in order to purchase tickets online. We recommend you create or update your existing account prior the announce on-sale date.
     
  2. Join the online waiting room at Ticketpop.com on the on-sale date: When you visit www.ticketpop.com during the on-sale date, you will automatically be placed in the virtual waiting room. All patrons in the waiting room before 9:00 a.m. AST / 8:00 a.m. EST will automatically receive a random place in the purchase queue. Once your number in the purchase queue is assigned, you will remain in that place as you approach the front of the line. Patrons visiting www.ticketpop.com after 9:00 a.m. AST / 8:00 a.m. EST will be placed in order at the back of the line. If you are still in the waiting room and the tickets sell out, you will be notified with a message on your screen saying that there are no tickets left.
  3. Enter the website and find your tickets: Keep an eye on your place in line. Once you reach the front of the line, you will be redirected to the purchase page. There is a maximum purchase limit of 4 tickets per household on a “Best Available” basis (seats cannot be selected). Once you have tickets in your cart, you will have 8 minutes to purchase those seats. You will only be allowed to make one transaction, so please add all tickets to your cart before entering your payment information and checking out. You will be asked to log in with your Ticketpop account before completing your transaction. There will be no guest checkout for HAMILTON so please create your www.ticketpop.com account in advance on our website and be sure to know your password.
     

Why is there a virtual waiting room?

This is an important tool for combating ticket brokers and it guarantees you keep your virtual place in line. You will get regular updates on your wait time and ticket availability.

Where can I buy HAMILTON tickets in Puerto Rico?

Ticketpop will sell tickets for HAMILTON at the Ticket Box Office of Teatro UPR, at Ticketpop Outlets and through Internet starting on Saturday, November 10 from 9:00 a.m. AST / 8:00 a.m. EST

NOTE: The person who purchase tickets will be required to show the credit card used in the transaction AND a valid government-issued picture ID, along with the purchase receipt and/or confirmation when picking up tickets two (2) hours prior the scheduled performance. Tickets are not transferable and cannot be picked up by a third party.

Are there group sales available if I want to purchase more than the ticket limit?

There are no group sales for HAMILTON's engagement in Puerto Rico.

Can I get on a waiting list for tickets?

We encourage you to sign up using the form below so you can be notified if and when additional inventory is released.

Will there be a lottery for HAMILTON?

Yes. 10,000 tickets (approximately 25% of all tickets available for the show’s 3-week engagement) will be sold for $10 each to residents of Puerto Rico via the HAMILTON lottery.

Separate lotteries will be held  for each performance. To participate for a chance to win, you must register through the HAMILTON App the day prior each performance. Each winning entrant may purchase up to two (2) tickets. For more information, visit HAMILTONmusical.com/lottery

Tickets for students will be on sale the same day of the show and NOT on the day of the general sale of the event. Students will be required to present their college ID and their 2019 semester curriculum.

When will student tickets be on sale?

Of the $10 tickets, 1,000 tickets will be exclusively available to Puerto Rican college students for the matinee performance to be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019

How can I register for the $10 tickets?

You can enter the lottery through the HAMILTON mobile app or online at HAMILTONmusical.com/lottery. The official HAMILTON app is available for all iOS and Android devices in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Separate lotteries will be held  for each performance. To participate for a chance to win, you must register through the HAMILTON App the day PRIOR each performance. Each winning entrant may purchase up to two (2) tickets.  

Are there any discounts available?

There are no discounts for any ticket to HAMILTON.  However, 10,000 tickets will be sold for special price of $10 each to residents of Puerto Rico via the HAMILTON lottery. 

I found tickets online that are twice as expensive as your listed ticket prices, are these tickets trustworthy?

Only tickets purchased directly from ticketpop.com or at any Ticketpop points of sales are guaranteed to be legitimate tickets. Purchasing from any other seller or website runs a high risk of receiving fraudulent tickets.

Are there any Meet and Greet options with the cast?

No Meet and Greets have been announced.

Is the original Broadway cast performing in Puerto Rico?

Lin-Manuel Miranda will reprise his role as Alexander Hamilton for the duration of the Puerto Rico engagement. The rest of the cast is yet to be determined.

Cast Replacements and Understudies. The cast members of HAMILTON in Puerto Rico (including Lin-Manuel Miranda, the principal cast and ensemble) are subject to replacement by the producers at any time. In addition, understudies may be used in place of regular cast members who are unavailable for one or more performance(s) due to illness, scheduling conflicts, or for any other reason, as is common practice in the theatre industry.

We make no warranties of any kind with respect to the cast members, Lin-Manuel Miranda included, who will actually appear in any performance(s) of HAMILTON in Puerto Rico. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, you will not receive a refund or exchange of tickets due to a cast member replacement or the use of an understudy (whether or not known to us in advance) for any  performance(s).
 

Do you provide accessible services?

Yes, accessible areas for wheelchair will be sold at the Ticket  Box Office of Teatro UPR.  Spaces are limited and subject to availability. 

The Theater doesn't have elevetor to access Second Floor.  Client who needs any especial accommodation should notify before purchasing tickets.

What are limited view seats?

Seats assigned as "limited view" seats are those that are located in areas with a partcial view of the full stage.

Does Ticketpop mail tickets internationally?

​Ticketpop does not mail ticket orders. All orders will be held for will call pick-up two (2) hours prior to the scheduled performance at the Ticket Box Office of Teatro UPR.

Keep your purchase receipt in a safe place

Be sure to keep the purchase receipt that is handed to you at one of the Ticketpop locations and/or your email confirmation in a safe place as this will be required at Will Call when picking up your tickets at Teatro UPR.

Protect your tickets

Each ticket has a one-of-a-kind bar code, and when you share or post your tickets along with your personal information online, your tickets can be compromised. You can still share your excitement online, but just make sure to #CoverTheCode by covering the bar code and any other personal information on your ticket.

When and how do I pick up my tickets?

Tickets will be available for pickup in person the same day and two (2) hours prior the scheduled performance at the Ticket Box Office of Teatro UPR in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In order to pick up your tickets, you will need to present: 

  • The debit or credit card used to buy the tickets, 
  • A valid government-issued picture ID, AND
  • Purchase receipt handed at Ticketpop Location and/or Email confirmation, if tickets were purchased via Ticketpop webpage. 

NOTE: Tickets will ONLY be handed to the owner of the credit or debit card used to buy the tickets. Tickets will not be handed over if the names on the ID and the debit/credit card do not match the name on the order. Tickets are not transferable and cannot be picked up by a third party. Tickets can ONLY be picked up the day of the show.

What happens if I cannot attend the performance for which I had purchased tickets due to a conflict in my itinerary?

Since all sales are final, we are unable to offer refunds. Be sure to check the following information before completing your purchase: show title, day, date, time of performance, and number of tickets.

Warning about unofficial ticket sellers!

Ticketpop, the Flamboyan Arts Fund, Puerto Rico Tourism Company and additional corporate sponsors are the ONLY OFFICIAL sources for purchasing tickets to Hamilton in Puerto Rico.

Purchasing tickets from any other seller or website runs a high risk of receiving fraudulent tickets. Ticket buyers who purchase tickets from a ticket broker or any third party should be aware that the theater is unable to reprint or replace lost, replicated or stolen tickets, and is unable to contact patrons with additional information. If you arrive at a performance with a fraudulent ticket, you will not be allowed entry.

How do I get to the theater?

Teatro UPR is located at the heart of the University of Puerto Rico’s main campus in Rio Piedras, Ponce de Leon Avenue, San Juan PR 00931. You can take public transportation, taxis, Uber or private transportation systems to get to the theater. Also, train is available and the nearest Tren Urbano railroad station is “Universidad.”

What is the proper dress code for the theatre?

Going to the theater is certainly a special occasion. You'll probably be most comfortable in casual business wear. People in shorts, T-Shirts, and "flip flops" will not be admitted inside the theater. 

Prohibited items and Security

Audio or Video recording devices will not be permitted inside the theatre. Professional or flash photography, and the use of recording equipment during the performance is strictly prohibited. Tripods, monopods, and selfie-sticks, among others are also prohibited.

Weapons of any kind, including but not limited to: Firearms (with or without permit), knives of any size will not be allowed inside the premises.

Noisemaking devices (e.g. air horns, whistles)
